NO ONE IS ABOVE CHARITY

We are all receiving Charity. There is something in each of us that cannot be naturally loved. #CSLewis

The thing about C. S. Lewis is that he loved the definition of words and hated the connotations we've come to associate with them. So words like "charity" and "pity" or even the word "gentleman" gets him all riled up in an almost adorable sort of way as he tries to not only preserve the meaning of the words themselves but also to preserve what those words should mean to us.

The definition of the word charity isn't as bad as we've made it these last 100 years or so. The same with pity. I mean, if God's grace is charity and pity on us, since they came from God, they can't be bad. They can only be good, great even, or at least they should be. And not a one of us fallen creatures is above the love, grace, charity, or pity of God. And if you can't accept those things from God, or other people, then you can't accept God, because He is all those things and more.

We are broken and God takes pity on us and gives us His charity. Accept it. Love it. Appreciate it. Pass it on. No one is above charity. Especially the charity of God.
